ESB Rio de Janeiro
Principal
Rachel is passionate about education. She joined the ESB Rio de Janeiro team in 2008 as a biology teacher and a few years later became the high school coordinator. In 2019, she took over as principal. Rachel is a biologist and has a master's degree in Environmental Science from Fluminense Federal University (UFF). She attained a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and is currently completing her School Management and Leadership certificate from Harvard Business School. Rachel is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) Leader.

Vice Principal
Aline graduated in pedagogy, specialising in school administration. She worked as a therapist with a focus on learning disorders after completing the Clinical-Institutional Psychopedagogy course. She started working at ESB Rio de Janeiro as a primary school teacher in 2012. Aline is part of the IB trainers team in Brazil. The greatest motivation for her is the understanding of learning mechanisms and helping students, parents and teachers establish positive relationships.

Giulia was born in São Paulo, lived in Asunción, Paraguay and then moved to Brasília, where she graduated in pedagogy at the University of Brasília. In 2014, she moved to Rio de Janeiro and has been a member of the ESB Rio de Janeiro teaching team ever since. Giulia holds a post-graduate degree with a specialisation in education for early childhood from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Her passion for education came from her own experience of having attended several schools with different philosophies, from traditional schools to logosophical and Montessori schools. Her greatest hobbies are reading and cooking in the company of friends.

Érica Sá is a biologist and holds a master's degree in Ecology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She has been part of the ESB Rio de Janeiro team since the implementation of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) over 10 years ago. She specializes in Science Education and has worked as a Science teacher in Middle Years and as a Biology teacher and IB Biology Standard and Higher Level teacher in High School. Convinced to the continuous education of educators, she furthered her studies with an MBA in School Management from the University of São Paulo (USP). Érica already holds the position of Science Area Leader and now also assumes the coordination of the Middle Years Programme - MYP. She is dedicated to providing inspiring school experiences that motivate and challenge students, fostering lifelong learning.

Maurício has been part of the ESB Rio de Janeiro team for over seven years, being responsible for the subject of history. He is also a proofreader at the IB and a consultant in the organisation's Brazilian Social Studies area. He has a master's as well as a doctoral degree in history from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). His fascination with history is so great that he has published several titles in this area. He has two children, both SIS students, and he is passionate about soccer!

SIS Swiss International School
SIS Swiss International School is a group of private day schools in Brazil, Germany and Switzerland offering bilingual education from kindergarten through to college.
